Effects of the pilates method on core strength and body composition of university dancers
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dancers require increasing core strength as well as maintaining proper body composition to maintain good physical performance. The objective is to establish the effect of a Pilates method program on core strength and body composition in university dancers. A quantitative study was carried out, pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test. The results obtained show that the dancers studied do not present cardiovascular risk and with respect to the strength of the central zone, it increased significantly. It is concluded that a program of the pilates method of 8 weeks duration positively influences the strength of the core zone.
