Abstract

Concern for peace has been a priority for the current state of Colombia and the Bolivarian state of Venezuela. The sports and recreational field offers various alternatives for specialized care to the population, to avoid violence at different ages, however, there is a shortage of scientific programs and projects with the aforementioned purpose. The objective of this study is to analyze the existing public policies in Colombia and Venezuela to reduce violence and build sustainable peace through sports and recreation. A descriptive review of bibliographic and documentary sources found in specialized databases and interviews is carried out. The study revealed the potential of sport and recreation in both nations for the reintegration of children, adolescents and adults in edifying social activities and reducing scenarios of violence.
