Physical exercise in private gyms of Physical Culture in Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Cuba, one of the facilities that attracts the most public for physical exercise are private gyms, wich are attended by both healthy practitioners and some who have non-communicable diseases. These must be under the supervision of trainers who individually plan and control the physical exercises, a lack that currently exists in more than 80% of the gyms in the country. The objective of this article is to highlight the current state of physical exercises in these facilities, as well as the attention to practitioners, individualized work and the main deficiencies that affect the correct state of health. A qualitative methodology is assumed. The results showed that 40% of the practitioners suffer from some non-communicable diseases and that more than 70% of trainers in private gyms do not have the required professional qualification.
