Prevalence of alterations in the plantar arch in female volleyball athletes

Abstract
There are several studies that have been carried out for the analysis of the plantar vault, and its alterations, in different ages and genders of a population, but at the local level specifically in the department of San Marcos, Guatemala there is no study that describes the alterations of the plantar vault in female volleyball athletes, so that the need arises to contextualize these studies, starting with the idea of conducting a cross-sectional descriptive study whose objective is to identify the prevalence of alterations of the plantar vault in female volleyball athletes of the association de San Marcos, using the classic plantar impression method for data collection (Hernández, 1999) since it is an effective and low-cost method. cost, and allows assessing the existence of alterations in the plantar vault. The study was carried out during confinement due to the pandemic, so the footprint was taken with the authorization and support of the athletes' parents in a virtual way, it concludes by establishing that the majority of evaluated athletes have a prevalence of flat feet normal, these results allow us to start a longitudinal study where physiotherapy techniques are applied so that injuries caused by the identified alterations can be prevented.
