Battery of exercises for the treatment of gait block in parkinsonian patients
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research was developed in the International Center of Neurological Restoration (CIREN), with a random sample of 20 patients with Parkinson’s disease who had freezing of the gait and received neurorehabilitation treatment at the Clinic of Adult Movement Disorder. From November 2016 to September 2017, a longitudinal, prospective and experimental study for a single minimal control group. The research has as a general objective to elaborate a proposal of exercises for the parkinsonian patients with gait block. The historical-logical and the analytic-synthetic methods were used at the theoretical level. The surveys and standardized walking test were used at the empirical level, the variables were measured at the beginning and at the end of the treatment. The period of physical rehabilitation was extended to 4 weeks of intensive and personalized work. The result of the tests was processed statically, using exploratory techniques and applying the nonparametric Wilcoxon test to determine the meaning of the obtained results. At the end of the neurorehabilitation treatment positive results were achieved, with significant differences in the gait block, observing a marked decrease after being applied the proposal of exercises.
